Ashanti Hare is a Devon based multidisciplinary artist and spiritual practitioner originally from South London. Ashanti Hare's work explores British, Caribbean & West African folklore, the occult and magick with a focus on decolonising Western history through archival research. Hare’s work is often influenced by pop culture, music, film and literature and utilises folk craft practices such as textiles, ceramics and wood carving alongside moving image and installation.

Additionally, Hare has been working as a producer and curator with an interest in disability justice. Hare is currently in post at Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange as part of the DASH Future Curator Programme.

Hare graduated from Arts University Plymouth in 2022 and went on to win the 2022 CVAN Platform Graduate Award, AUP X KARST Graduate Residency & 2023 Southcombe International Women’s Day Residency.
